Comments 15 hands. "Plaudit" was sired by the TB, King Plaudit and out of the dun mare, Colorado Queen; sired by Old Nick. . King Plaudit won the 1898 Kentucky Derby. Tom Mills was the owner of Plaudit at birth. The colt passed hands from Tom to Coke Roberds, Jack Hauskins, Warren Shoemaker and then Waite Phillips of the Philmonot Ranch by the time he was 3. He stayed with Phillips until the ranch was given to the Boy Scouts in '41 and it was then he sold to Hal Cooper who in turn sold him to Frank Burns. At this time a severe injury sent the stallion to Colorado A & M where he was bought by R.S. Roskelly and eventually passed on to his final owner Leon Harms.
